Why I love what I do?
My name is Yifan Wang. I grew up in China until 18 years old, experienced my undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the UK in the area of education. Between the mid-20s and early 30s, I explored being a college teacher, school guidance counselor, college administrator, program manager, and communication trainer in non-profit and for-profit settings.
The passion for learning psychology and becoming an artistic healer made me decide to come to the US in 2014. My life goal is to "bring people closer" in their significant bonding relationship. Normally, people are not taught how to form a healthy adult loving relationship. My specialty is to work with couples who are struggling with communication issues, trust issues, disconnection, and feeling not enough to the other person. The Approach I am using is called EFT, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Most EFT research to date has focused on outcome and process of change studies with couples, and EFT for couples is the gold standard for empirically validated intervention in this field.
